How We Started
BridgeWay Foundation was founded by students who looked around their community and decided that waiting for someone else to act wasn't an option. We started with a handful of care packs and a determination to show up — and that's exactly what we've done.
From our very first outreach event, we knew that supplies alone weren't enough. What people experiencing homelessness often need just as much as food and clothing is to feel seen — to have someone stop, make eye contact, and say "I see you, and you matter."
We organize every event ourselves. We plan the logistics, pack the bags, coordinate the volunteers, and show up every single time. Because we believe that showing up consistently is what turns outreach into relationship — and relationship into real community change.
What We Do
We build and distribute care packs filled with essential hygiene items, snacks, socks, and comfort supplies at every outreach event.
We run clothing drives throughout the year, collecting coats, shoes, and seasonal gear and delivering them directly to individuals in need.
We don't just do one event and disappear. We plan regular outreach so the people we serve know they can count on us to return.
We sit and talk. We learn people's names. We listen to their stories. Because every person deserves to be more than a recipient — they deserve to be known.
We use our platform to educate our peers and community about homelessness — shifting the narrative from judgment to empathy and action.
We recruit and train new volunteers, expand our network, and continuously improve our programs so we can serve more people, more effectively.
